Congratulations to Gloria and Jameson! This beautiful couple tied the knot on a hot but gorgeous day in June at the Pavilion at Patriot's Point…

Gloria and Jameson’s Mount Pleasant wedding ceremony and reception took place on June 23rd at Patriot Point's majestic setting looking over the Charleston Harbor. Floral arrangements by Island Bouquets and a cake by Flowerchild beautifully showcased the couple’s chosen colors of coral, navy and gold. In regards to our catering, the couple had quite the spread including delicious items like Penne a la Vodka, Chicken Piccata, Prime Rib and a grand seafood display with local peeled shrimp, Stone Crab claws and chilled oysters on the half shell.

Large Event Venue Opens in Mount Pleasant

Relish Distinctive Catering is the proud co-owner of a new event venue in Mount Pleasant! We’ve partnered with Dunes West and RiverTowne to open Thomas Lynch Hall. The venue is located on the Dunes West property (at 3003 Dunes West Boulevard in Mount Pleasant), and it is available to the general public (you do not need to be a Dunes West club member to reserve it). 

Thomas Lynch Hall can hold up to 350 guests, which is pretty special. Most indoor venues in the Charleston area are much smaller. The property offers ample parking as well.

Thomas Lynch Hall is available for private parties, corporate events and weddings. Any event at the hall that is booked through and catered by Relish includes white linens, glassware, flatware and china at no additional cost.

A Colorful Fall Wedding on Charleston Harbor

There is so much to love about fall weddings! Temperatures are dropping, and the humidity is relenting. October is statistically the driest month of the year in Charleston, which makes outdoor event planning a lot easier, but a lack of precipitation isn't the only reason you should consider a fall wedding in Charleston....

While fall typically conjures images of yellow, orange and red foliage, "fall color" in the Lowcountry takes on a whole new meaning! Pink Muhly Grass (Muhlenbergia), more commonly known as sweetgrass, is absolutely breathtaking. The pink blooms emerge in early October and last well into winter, depending on the weather.

Kayla and Richard's Mount Pleasant wedding ceremony took place on RiverTowne's marsh front lawn under a cascade of blooms. Hats off to Ooh Events on the spectacular floral arrangements! Both the ceremony and reception featured nautical elements, an abundance of flowers and delicious details (including a stunning 3-tier cake by Delicious Desserts and miniature tomato pies and pulled pork biscuits by Relish Distinctive Catering).

We recently had the pleasure of catering a reception for our dear friends Lorrie and Bert Griggs. They threw a fabulous party out at the Patriots Point Pavilion that featured tons of locally sourced seafood. Land-loving guests enjoyed a mini biscuit bar with mouth watering jellies, butters and bacon, along with fried green tomato and pimento cheese sliders...

Kensington Plantation

We’re excited to announce that, as of 2016, Relish Distinctive Catering is the exclusive caterer for Kensington Plantation! This beautiful wedding venue, located on Huger Creek, features water views, grand oak trees, a rustic barn and an adorable one room schoolhouse. 

Kensington Plantation was originally part of a 12,000 acre tract of land known as Cypress Barony. The land was divided in 1709, and a portion was given the name Kensington in 1740. The rice plantation was purchased by the Stoney family in the 1950s and was submitted to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. The Stoney family still maintains ownership of the property.

A Lavish Charleston Wedding at Patriots Point

We had the pleasure of catering a lot of beautiful weddings this summer! Every event is special, and one of the best parts of our job is sharing those experiences with you. Today we’re divulging some details that are truly spectacular!

Vibrant and stylish, the celebration was a true reflection of the fun loving bride and groom. The waterfront ceremony and tented reception were elegantly decorated in shades of white and blue. Tall floral arrangements, special furniture, textured linens and colored lighting created a modern and whimsical atmosphere, while personal touches, like Korovai (Russian wedding bread), kept family traditions alive.

We recently had the pleasure of catering a wedding reception at Alhambra Hall. It’s a great location with a beautiful waterfront ceremony lawn. Tables and chairs are included, and the venue allows for all-day set up (as early as 10am). The facilities have been recently renovated, and there is a kitchen on property. There is also plenty of parking available.
